This week we were assigned to write a storyline with a beginning, middle, and an end. It must include at least 2 characters, and be about our issue. We are to turn our story into a stop motion animation. My issue is that only #1 and #2 plastics are recyclable and that plastics are bad for the environment. So, I explored several story lines and my son (grown, but a good person to bounce ideas off) thought they were all too depressing and dark. Idea 1: a plastic bag collects other plastics that cannot be recycled and it grows into a monster that eats the earth. Idea 2: a plastic bag dissolves into microplastic beads (the same green Styrofoam balls from my assemblage) and a guy wades through a sea of these green plastic balls and catches a fish. Next scene, the fish is on his plate, he cuts it open and it is filled with the green balls, which morph into a hand that chokes him and he dies, face down in the plate and the green hand hops off the table and walks away. Basically, plastics take over the world and we all die. The End.
