Julie Chen's artist books are a great inspiration (https://flyingfishpress.com/). She usually only makes 50 copies of her books, but they are so incredibly complicated and beautiful. She makes all kinds of books, pop-up, according, tunnel, and unique compositions. I especially like the Double Helix: An Essential Component of All Living Matter
Structure: foldable double helix with stand
Dimensions: 20 inches tall with 7 inches diameter base when opened
Techniques: printed using letter punches
Edition size: unique book
Notes: Created for Science and the Artist’s Book,
an exhibition at the Smithsonian Libraries, 1994.

Another Artist that interested me for this 'Doorway' Project is Ithell Colquhoun (1906 — 1988) was a British Surrealist painter and author. She was born in Shillong, Assam, India, but lived most of her life in England.
